LA Networking Matters third annual networking event, Oktoberfest, was held at the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. With over 250 guests in attendance, we raised $10,000 for two local charities - Toberman Neighborhood Center in San Pedro and Peninsula Seniors of Rancho Palos Verdes. In addition to the money raised, attendees of the event also brought canned food to donate to the Toberman Food Pantry.
Beneficiaries
Toberman will use the money raised to fund Healthy Living & Learning, Toberman's after-school program, which is a safe haven that provides homework assistance, tutoring, recreation and health and nutrition seminars. For more information on this program, please visit www.toberman.org
Peninsula Seniors will apply a portion of the money raised to their Quality of Life Scholarship Fund, which offers scholarships to students attending California State University, Long Beach who are pursuing a degree in gerontology. For more information on this program, please visit www.pvseniors.org
